I have a stock cane 88 1000 model with just a gear change 16 on the front and 44 on the back sprocket. I have no problem with any 600's to date. I usually pull them off the line or a roll on by a length or 2. Hold that too about the end of second gear then once in 3rd start pulling away.
The toughest of the 600 bunch i am played around with was a 08 R6. The cane still came out on top. Funny thing is I did not start any of these events, but finished them. LOL all this with over 50k on her.
Even manged to stay a half a bike length ahead of a 02 TL 1000R.

I had a couple of 600's or 750's try to mess with me on my way home for lunch a few weeks ago(when I still had my WOT problem) and I easily put them in my mirror w/o going WOT.
What pi$$ed me off was how one of the riders decided to blow past me in my lane(I was crouched and concentrating on the road ahead). So after he blew by me I saw his buddy comming up fast, I dropped to 4th and let the hurricane loose. they stayed back untill I got to my exit. Mind you this is while not being able to go WOT, so a 600 should be no prob.
