I clearly live in a very odd sort of town.
So, here I am; live in a little bit of tourist town in the South Island of NZ.
Our usual population is around about 7000. During summer we go up to about 30 000, then once every two years the population goes to over 100 000 during Warbirds over Wanaka.
So; I found this little comment in the local free community newspaper of interest today. They have this thing where the local police force try to justify their existence.
And I quote : " A dog bed was stolen from the boot of a car parked at Roys Bay"
"A Nissan Terrano was unlawfully taken from an address in Plantation Road and later returned to that address. It had obviously been used to recover another vehicle or similar as the vehicle was dirty and had several vehicle strops in it that did not belong to the owner.
Just a reminder to take basic precautions, don't forget not to leave your keys in the car overnight"
Thank you Mr Policeman.

Yep, small town, little news...................so here's the South Australian Police effort for Back to the Future Day.
Great Scott! Police have arrested four youths involved in a hoverboard chase and altercation at the Courthouse Mall.
The gang, conspicuously dressed in upcycled Tupperware containers, wrist-guards and breast-plates were seen chasing a teenage male from Café 80’s adjacent the Holomax Theatre on Main Street.
A short hoverboard pursuit ensued. The chase came to an abrupt end when the youths crashed through the windows of the historic Courthouse.
The youths have been charged with crimes against fashion.
Hoverboarders are reminded that drifting or ‘skiing’ behind grounded or flying vehicles is both highly dangerous and not advised.
They did "Dad Jokes" for an event called The Big Day Out.
Personally I think it is a great thing. Shows a level of humanity!
Cheers, SB
