Default Hi from a newbie

Signed up yesterday, didn't realise there were so many "Hurricaners" out there. Well here's mine, just waiting to get it back on the road after several years in storage, can't wait to get back in the saddle.

Talking of which, anyone know where I can get a good saddle recovering somewhere in the east of England?

Cheers,

May be cheaper to buy a good seat on e-Bay........
They come up quite often. I saw one for abt 36 quid a day or so back........
Or buy a readymade seatcover - they are available too.
Or you could recover it yourself - two of us have done it and it looks like a factory job.
This guy has some for a 90 and 93, maybe he has one for an 87 ?

All I knew of in Cambs/Suffolk area was a materials wholesale shop in Bury St Edmunds and an upholsterers in Long Melford - that's how I used to get my classic car interiors refurbished, buy from one and supply the other with the materials and seats/door cards.
Never knew any specialist places.

Buying from ebay probably easiest - the 750 and 87/88 1000 seats are the same.

However for the CBR I profiled the seat to suit (loads of how to videos on youtube) and then bought cover materials from ebay. Used a heavy duty black microfibre material and a tribali? cover on the rear.

Thanks BaronIsle,

Managed to find a seat cover from BitzforBikes armed with the knowledge that it's the same as the 87/88 1000F.

Cheers,

Welcome to the forum Millsy.

Look in the yellow pages for a local upholsterer, they'll be able to recover the seat for you for not too much money. It's what I did, got it recovered for sixty quid including materials.

Going to have a crack myself, might have to resort to the yellow pages when it all goes belly up!

Fingers crossed!
