congratulations on your very lucky escape bud ,I also had a similar escape collapsed at home a couple of times thought it was just a faint but it was very small heart attacks, lucky wife was there and put me in recovery pos. and like you she saved my life twice so owe her big time ,taken to hospital and straight for angiogram and found 2 main artery blockages had a double bypass which I sailed through because like you I was so fit ,that was 2 years ago and I am great now I swim 80 lengths of the swimming pool every day ,just glad I wasn't riding my blade at 100 + at the time or it would have been game over lol. photos of my blade are on picture thread page 37 anyway enjoy your new blade hope you enjoy as much as I do . its all true when we say never know whats waiting round the corner . all the best .

That was a very lucky escape for you too Scorpion!

Glad to hear your recovery went well and gives me high hopes for my own future fitness.

Was there any history of heart disease in your family? I have since found a history of heart disease in quite a few family members.

That's so tragic, my Dad died at 49, which is not old at all by today's standards.

Well lets honour them by living long and living well

Hawk, welcome back and glad to hear that you have nipped this in the bud. I'm a newbie on here after purchasing a field find (a bit like a barn find) which had been sat in a field for 2 years with no cover on it. My project is HERE and I am now on the look out for a 94-99 blade also after owning 2 of them (a 97 and a 99) and an 09 one which was one of the best bikes I have owned.
Your Blade is stunning mate so enjoy it while you have the opportunity.

Thanks again for the welcome back guys.

exuptoy, I'm enjoying reading through your thread, amazing how little work she needed to get her started after 2 years in a field! Considering that kind of neglect, she looks to be in pretty good shape too.

Cheers fella. I was expecting to have to strip the carbs down as I've had to do with a bandit and a GPZ750 that were laid up but this needed next to nothing doing to get it running. Just lucky I guess. I am pleased with how she has turned out but if I get the chance of a nice Blade it will have to go to make space and to fund it. As nice as the CBR is I really want another Blade.

Hey Hawk-so glad you cheated the grim reaper! The 1KF and the Blade are fun set to play with. I miss both of them...regrets. My current mix is BMW K1300S and a '98 VFR. I still haunt around here now and then to torment myself.
