I like to think he was doing it for a fellow biker , truth is he probably got a call that some important guy was on the way and to get rid of any traffic in the way
I like the first idea best..........but then I am pretty important
Haha! That's cool as hell.
They had to be there to escort you, hawk. They must know that you're a potential ROTM on CBRF!! (Maybe chainstretcher phoned ahead for you? LOL)

I subscribe to the illusion of "we're all on two wheels" philosophy and will wave at you if it is convenient even if you are riding a scooter. I also wave at cops. I get snubbed more by the BMW crowd then anyone else but lately I've noticed a lot of 50ish guys on harleys who not only can't ride, but can't seem to see or hear either and are down right rude MF's. RV's, 'cell Phone soccer moms' and the 'I got a big truck' guys are my least favorite to share the road with but then I haven't run into to many thugs out here. I believe I would have handled it the same way except I'd give them the ol' crazy eye and a big smile!

Ya, I'll agree with 99.9% of that You never know what kind of day someone is having or if they're a ***** all the time. For instance, couple weeks ago I was riding home in 98F with 106F heat factor when it started raining. Traffic = suck. Although the rain did feel good at first it didn't really cool things off -- as in you could literally see steam rising from the asphalt. I'm sure more than 1 cager was pissed at the idiot on the Nightrod splitting lanes and getting the fock on home. Hey, I don't advocate stupidity but sometimes you gotta do what ya gotta do. And I always wave ...

Waiving is good.

Some guy on a sportbike was approaching me in the other lane with his brights on. He saw me switch to low beams, but he never did. And then when he got right next to me, and when I was just about totally blind, he gave me the low sign/biker wave. Odd priorities.

Waving is GREAT! It's what keeps us all together as a community! .... I always wave ... or give a nod ... depending on what I'm doing at the time ..... But i always try to acknowledge other bikers along the way! ... I don't get many nods or waves back from Harley or BMW riders .... But Hey!!!!!! .... One day! .... Keep nodding and waving!!!!!! .... Especially to the younger lads and lasses on 'peds and scooters .... Because they are tomorrows members!

HD riders are too cool to wave at a lowly untouchable and the BMW guys, well, they just don't have a clue. That's life and you learn to work around it.
