Funny how the same fish have different names in different countries - take Shad or Elf here- called Bluefish in the US and Taylor in Oz ? Or the Trevally or Kingfish as we know them.
Whatever you call them great in the pan if caught fresh, OR keep them submerged in almost frozen water in the fridge and they'll taste just as good 10 days later.
I did a fair bit (18 years) offshore fishing here - mostly for Queen Mackerel, Dorado, King Mackerel, Barracuda, sailfish, largespot queenfish, kingfish and the like.
Sold the boats and now go out occasionally with a Magistrate mate who has a 21 footer. Nice to not have to worry about all the maintenance

well we got out on sunday 2nd june and fished of the needles by the isle of white. was a glorious day.
the fishing was good(nothing massive) but everyone caught, we had tope,dogfish,blonde rays and lots of mackeral (my niece feathred for mackeral all day so we had loads of bait)
