Default Collective Memory Loss.

So here we are in the opening games of The World Cup Cricket Series.

England, (the inventors of cricket; I think you'll find) were bowled out tonight for a very lowly 123 by New Zealand.

What an absolute rort.

Of course our guys made that target in very short time and retired to the pub early with eight wickets in hand.

I can only assume that the English team arrived here expecting to compete in a Morris Dancing Competition?

And then Pakistan lose to the Windies (who have just completed a tour here in SA where they were soundly beaten.
The best for me was Ireland who beat the Windies........
The form book has gone out of the window so far.

Let's see what happens in the match between SA and India...........

And on a more serious note, I hope all in the Queensland area are safe and sound.
I'll bet Bangladesh will be happy of the point for the draw with Australia however.
(they would have needed more than a hurricane to beat the Aussies) LoL

And I always thought a Morris dancer was a variant of a Morris Minor..........

Apparently the UK press is not totally happy with the performance of the English side so far:

'It does not get any worse' - UK media hit out at England's cricket team - Cricket News | TVNZ

There were actually some pretty impressive numbers going on in that (mis) match:

Tim Southee (7 for 33) first, bowling out the visiting side for just 123 in 33.2 overs.

That is a very impressive effort (7 for 33) any day of the week.

And then when little old Kiwis come into bat our next Prime Minister just does this.

Brendon McCullum smashing 77 off 25 ***** as New Zealand achieved victory in just 12.2 overs with eight wickets in the bag.

Sorry to crow, but we're only a little small country, we have to grab our glory when we can.

Gotta agree Shadow , didn't even know Ireland had a cricket team, let alone one that was capable of beating the Windies.

So would it totally outrageous of me to suggest , that maybe Team Kiwi has a better chance of winning this comp. than Scotland, Ireland, Wales or England?

Ok, big day on Saturday Seb. The good lady wife and I will be winging our way to Sydney for the Eagles concert. So we will probably miss out on the result of the highly anticipated Kiwi/Aus match on Saturday.

I will rely on you to keep me reliably informed of the result.

Also noted on the News tonight, your PM is due to arrive in NZ on Friday, that's a bit of a coincidence isn't it?

I am sure him and our PM will have several important meetings trying to arrange an appropriate NZ anti-ISIS response.

Either that; or they will have a few beers, go to the cricket, and whoever wins, they will mercilessly bag each other off.

If I was a world leader I would go for option 2 ............. That's probably why I've never been elected a world leader.

being two great if not the only two great legacies getting left behind

You and Mrs Teeks enjoy the concert. I saw them in Adelaide during their second tour after reforming the band and it was much more than expected. I just HAD to see Joe Walsh play.

Pity you couldn't spend a bit more time in Oz. The '91 is singing. I did a 300km round trip on it yesterday to look at some solar equipment (going off-grid).

I won't watch the match Saturday as I have a little too much to do on the weekend, but will 'glance' at the 'puter a few times during the day.

One thing I promise - there be NO underarms!!!

Cheers, SB
