Bit of upward movement on swinging arm normal ?

guys just bought a cbr1000f 1995 model great shape well looked after it would pass for a 2 year old bike its that clean 18000 miles guy owned it this last 10 years and never took it out in the wet and it shows. anyway stole it of him for £1590. just doing the once over on her and i have noticed a bit of movement on the swinging arm NOT side ward movement but up and down movement if i grab the arm and lift it while bike is on center stand there is a bit of free play . is this normal or is there a bearing or something needs looked at in the shock. had a look online getting mixed results some say normal some say depends on the bike model . had one of these bike about 20 years ago loved it back then but cant remember if it had the free play in the shock or not up and down movement . thanks guys

Swing-arms should be solid without play.

Check your linkages. Would be easier with an mate helping, you get it knocking and let him find it.

Guys just a update after a couple of runs out now I have the free play back in my shock same as before up and down free play but not quite as bad. Looked at the top bolt and the markings haven't moved so the bolt has not loosened . I guess the inner bush must be worn then. Can I ask this might be a stupid question forgive me but if I removed the top shock mounting bolt would the shock lower to the ground with wheel attached ? If so is it possible to replace the top inner bush with the shock lowered as I can get at it from the side if I remove the small side cover .along with the air filter air scoop
