Guys just pulled my old plugs out cbr1000f 1995 18k genuine miles. To see couple of them had oil around the Base of each plug looking down into the well where plug fits I can see its kinda wet with oil . What would cause this . With such low millage I wouldn't think it's the rings but I don't know is there any seals down there as I see a small hole in each of the wells thanks guys

 

Valve cover gasket is leaking a little down the tubes.

 

Thanks for the quick reply I don't understand oil getting down the wells as the plug caps do fit nice and tight over the top of each well. Do you mean there is another seal needs replaced down where plugs fit as I do see a small hole down there on each well. Sorry if this sounds stupid to ask just trying to learn more

 

The caps seal on top of the cover. The cover gasket has a seal inside the tubes and well as around the outside.

 

Again big thank you for your help this makes a lot of sense now. So forgive me for asking but is the gasket all one piece I need to fit then?. Or is there like small o ring type seals down each tube also need replaced . Would you have a link to where I might buy one from as it's a old girl now of 23 years young

 

It's fine just seen gasket on flea bay with pictures see what you mean about the gasket leaking down the tubes now thanks for all you're help pal
