1996 cbr1000f Value
hey all. i have a 96 cbr1000f. i am considering selling it because i am going t be buying a house soon and im getting out of the motorycle scene for a couple years. just curious as to what you all think i should ask for it.
it has aprox 19k miles fresh honda gn4 oil change in the last 2 1/2 years (6k miles) its had: New brake pads front and rear new k&n air filter new front wheel bearings new chain this season it has had: New michelin pilot power tires-about 1k on them New Lithium ion Battery Carbs cleaned and synced COP conversion (stick coils) heres a link to my cop coversion Sylvania Silverstar ZXE headlights w/h4 adapters new exhaust clamps to seal it 100% New OEM NGK DPR9EA-9 spark plugs brakes taken apart, inspected, and all slides regreased when tires were put on It also has Yoshimura pipes on it that are in good shape, windscreen has been plasti dipped from the inside so its blacked out but can be peeled off in minutes, gas tank protector sticker. Seat has a small rip in it -about 2 inches, that has been 'repaired' but is still noticeable. you can see it in the pictures. paint i would say is a 6-7/10. from 20 feet it looks really good but has knicks/scratches throughout. no dents. it doesnt look like it has ever been dropped while moving but maybe in the garage because the frame slider covers have some scratches on them. Best way is to have a look online what bikes are selling for in your region - also have a look at blue book prices. Then, according to the condition - and yours looks superb - raise your price against the average. Be prepared to negotiate though. Cheers, SB |
ive been searching local CL and seeing a 1990 with 36k miles for 3500, a 1991 with 26k and in rough shape, missing fairings, etc for 3000, and a 94 thats been dropped for 2600. BUT, these have all ben listed for 1 month +, obviously too high priced and not selling.
i was thinking 3000 range i guess seems fair. might start a little higher thanks |

To be honest. I don't know the state of the housing market in your area, but selling a bike on the verge of fall/winter looks like desperation.
She looks like a gem, If at all possible, sit on her until spring. Then it's a seller's market. Might be worth some new appliances then I say sit tight and hedge your bets unless the right offer comes along. Don't sell cheap |

That bike would bring 2800 on the low side, and 3500 on the high side especially with only 19K and as clean as that bike is. |
