Still in the dark
from where i last left off i had measured the can out for the cut so i'll start here with the cut

now this is a must have
http://www.sharenow.com/gmedia/conte...00093gcghw.JPG
so after the can was cut we had to measure and get the right cut on the core
http://www.sharenow.com/gmedia/conte...0013Y6w6wm.JPG
http://www.sharenow.com/gmedia/conte...0014lAx1KJ.MOV
now we took a file to make our first marking
http://www.sharenow.com/gmedia/conte...0017KfXfWg.JPG
then we went back over it with white out so it can be seen better while cutting

after cutting the core i wrapped it in steel wool to reduce the noise and as repacking cause the packing ws shot

http://www.sharenow.com/gmedia/conte...0034KithND.JPG
i put in a layer of silicone on the can cap (sorry no pic) then drilled the wholes for the pop rivets (you can use screws)
http://www.sharenow.com/gmedia/conte...0028QRAkhe.JPG
(sorry no pic of the pop riveting either, got carried away in the work)
figured since i already siliconed the cap why not make it air tight. so i pulled off the mid pipe and put a layer on there where it goes
over the header pipe tip

and the finished project looks like this

what i do recomend is being very sure that you have all the tools for the job.

RE: shorty exhaust how to
lol not sayign anything bad about doing this but no backpressure on ur motor will burn ur valves, you will understand when u have to rebuild ur motor but if you dont understand what your talking about plz dont tell other people that it will not effect there motors. yes are engines can run with little to no back pressure but its not made to and will effect your motor in the long run. You can make a shorty exhaust if done properly with the proper baffling in it and not effect ur motor and still ge tthe same power output.
