Default Rear Shock Resivour beer/Pop can cover!

Here is a free mod mostly everyone can do with no $$ needed. Sorry if this has been posted before but I haven't seen anyone doing this around here so I thought I would post a how to.

1. Get a Beer or Pop Can of your choice - mine was a Mtn. Dew can.

2. Cut it down to size - remove the top and bottom of the can with scissors or metal cutters ( pop cans are easy to cut up with just about anything ).

3.Cut a slit down the can so we can wrap the shock resivour.

4.Wrap the can around and see how it fits ( might need to cut it down some for best fitment )

5. Glue or clap it in - I glued mine then clap to hold for now until the glue is setup. ( I would recommend super glue or some construction adhesive ).

and that's about it. Hope you guys like me free mod.

if you found them difficult to find, it's likely others will too. i'm just cross-referencing everything so those looking for something can more easily discover the wealth of information on the site. multiple threads aren't a bad thing in themselves; it's good to have a variety of info on a topic when you're looking for answers or ideas.

Anyone do this on an older 900RR? I have 96 I want to do this too, but it is mostly covered by the plastics. Is it even worth doing it?

I'm currently rocking the sugar free redbull, the 8oz can is perfect length once you cut off the ends and it wraps perfectly around the canister.

I have a 2000 929RR and I am working on it, with all of the rain and work. I have about 3 cans cut out, (a Monster Yellow one, and an AMP Yellow Drink one). Should get it sewed up this weekend. I know yours is older than mine and mine is still kind of hidden. I wil post pics this weekend.

Cool, can't wait to see it. If it looks good, I may do it, even though a lot will be hidden.
