How Two
Hey all you gearheads out there! Haven't been on in awhile! Those of you who know me, know me as kind of a 'Wrench', and those who don't, sorry to invade your corner of CBRF!
At any rate, I know Chain will see this sooner or later and hopefully add this new forum: How about a "How To: Riding Skills" forum for those of us who would like to work on improving our riding skills? I mean I know we all think we're Moto GP stars and everything, (jk), but I for one would be all about an area to visit on this site that may help me avoid an accident, or to better help me lean into a corner, on a decreasing radius sweeper, instead of attending a track day... Just a thought, Chris |
A good start would be the MSF - Motorcycle Safety Course... http://www.msf-usa.org/ . Lots of info on safety, technique, etc.
|
That's a good idea Shadowfax, to have a section dedicated solely to discussing riding techniques; primarily street (not stunting nor track).
|
Uh huh yep ..........that would make a great how to sub section...............be intersted in experienced and advanced riding tips from other CBR riders
|
Incognito, you're exactly right about the idea for the section, just straight forward, (no egos or bragging, no stunting, etc.)Well thanks for the comments, everyone, it sounds to me like there is at least an interest in starting a new section, so how do we go about starting one, anyone know?
P.S. sorry I haven't monitored my own thread lately, just got back from Deer Hunting Weekend (Wisconsin), no computer for a few days! No deer either, by the way; which was doubly as frustating, because it was near 60 and sunny at home, while I was 'not' seeing deer in the woods, I could have been riding! |

Alot of track techniques are also excellent street techniques... the bike will react the same whether it is on the track or the street. |
That's a great idea!!! In that sub-how to we can put our own experiences and we can talk about Not doing some things or recommend others. Let's wait and see if that can be...
Saludos compadres.... |
Ahhh, I see this thread ... hmmm, only took a month. Will put it on my to-do list to add the new section. Gimme whatever ideers ya got and I'll try to incorporate them into the new area. Don't worry, there's time ... it'll take me another lil while to actually formulate the game plan.
|
Sorry, been having computer problems, was not able to log in for almost a month! Hope there is still interest in the the new section! Perhaps a working title could be "Riding Skills"- Post your experiences, field questions, and share ideas to help each other improve as riders.
|
Here's a post for the new section....DON'T scoot all the way back in the saddle AND lean forward when gunning it from a red light UNLESS you want the front wheel to come up. Something I learned the hard way. Luckily it was a "successful" wheelie, albeit unintentional.
