How To: make ur own shorty levers
7 Attachment(s)
i dont know about you, but im not paying 150 bucks for shorty levers when you can make them out of your factory ones. ive done this on every bike ive owned and it works great. so here we go...
first- take off the lever... Attachment 47934 second- cut the lever to the desired lenght Attachment 47935 third- put the lever in a bench vice and bend the end. Attachment 47936 Attachment 47937 forth- grind down and round off the end of the lever. you can use a bench vise, or a dremel. i used both... Attachment 47938 fifth- finish up the sanding and rounding of the lever with sand paper. you can use fine paper to make the tip smooth. Attachment 47939 finally- paint them if you want. im going to do these gold before i put them on... then install them and your done! Attachment 47940 |
did this to mine but decided to powercoat them black after I shortened them. Nice write up!

Looks good.
A note to any UK viewers though, if you do this to your levers the bike will fail the MOT - you need a ball ended lever over here to stop you impaling pedestrians. |
