How to get an engine in with no Jack or lift
Hey folks,
Because I have no friends I’m on my own I need to get the engine back in my F3 and on my own it’s a B***H of a task, I don’t own a scissor lift or a Jack, any ideas? Thankyou as always! |
Do you have a ladder?
|
Like a folding step ladder? Could definitely get one
|
Yeah, I've used ratchet-straps from ladder to lift engine instead of entire bike.
https://drive.google.com/uc?export=d...FijVQgsU1Rc95l You can lift bike's rear-end on stand so it's perfectly vertical. Stuff engine under bike, lay ladder over top and use ratchet-straps to lift just engine. Use 2 straps, one in front and one in rear. Then you've got 4 lines around engine to level and tilt as necessary while lifting. |

I cry aloud from across the pond and the Mediterranean, from the ol' place of "Greek Patenta" improvisation homeground,
that IS a great example of good American Spirit: Going along with whatever you have at hand to get the job done! |
Over here in the UK in Yorkshire we have the saying "make do and mend" which means the same thing! or "bodge it" :icon_nic:
