Thank you.

What is the difference between the two though? If its 'manual' will i have to keep adjusting or doing stuff to it?

sorry for being brief before, i was on my phone.

The automatic one goes in as stated above. put it in and never have to adjust it again. However when it does go out again, you'll just have to buy another one.

The manual one has an adjustable bolt on the end of it. You put it in the same as above except for you have one extra step of adjusting it. Then if it ever goes out down the road instead of having to buy a new one you just have to adjust it again.

Like i said, its a preference thing.

Thank you.

Last question would be about the extra step of adjusting it. Is there a reference somewhere that will tell me how and what adjustment it should be at?

Somewhere, but I'll have to wait until I get back to a computer to find it.

Timing Chain Noise CBR600 F4i How to Fix It. - YouTube

Hey guys, I think I've read through the thread, but I might have missed this topic...

The video above says you can manually adjust the stock tensioner... without removing it from the bike! Would this work for those of us who have the rattling problem?

FYI, my F4i is an 02 model with 16xxx miles.

Thanks in advance!

Regarding the video above--

I have also read elsewhere people trying this and proving to be ineffective.

I am about to attempt this this weekend, seeing as how spring is just around the corner!

Does anyone know if i have to align some timing thing before i do this? Ive read it in a few places but it was for RR's.

Will let everyone know how it goes afterwards

I don't know if I set my expectations really high, but this was easier than I thought. You are able to use a 3/8 drive to get the lower bolt, you have to fish it down into the frame with a magnet and connect it to the extension. It was impossible to find 1/4 hex bits. Good write up, helped a ton and the bike is awesome when its not yelling at you.
