How to: Change dim lights in F4i undertail

Did my F4i tail conversion and this undertail came with it http://imagehost.vendio.com/a/214403...97744_f5_1.JPG
These lights are DANGEROUS. They have 9 leds 3 are amber and only on when the signal comes on and the other 6 makes the taillight look like a half moon. I didnt feel safe putting this on my bike so I change the lights. It turns out these lil 2 inch lights are the exact same size as trailer clearance lights. I found some of these http://www.anythingtruck.com/commerc.../689-200RC.jpg at harbor freight. The only problem was that there are only two wires coming from the back Ground and 12v. I just put a 330ohm resistor in the running light wire connected that to the 12v wire from the light. Ran the brake wire directly to the 12v wire. When the bike is on the taillight is on then get brighter when I hit the brakes. This is a good mod for anybody with this undertail.

P.S. Im sure you can even wire in blinkers using a relay but I had better plans. Sorry no pix of install but will get pix of finish product.

The round trailer lights actually look alot like the old MotoGP/Enduro tail lights Honda used to use on the 500cc bikes (Only in red)
