I joined this site today because I was thinking of syncing my bike myself for the first time. What a brillant post! Do you think I should give the pro's $80 to do it for me? ( My bikes in the shop now getting a tire). I like riding it more than working on it, but I was trying to save money. How much will the tools cost me? Thanks a lot.

 

$80 is cheap. I paid about $80 shipped for a motionpro carb sync tool, and I think I got a good deal on it. I'd probably do it myself just for the experience, and then you have the tool and the know-how for the future, but for that price, it'd be tempting to just drop it off

 

Any idea if his is the same process for my 98 F3? What I mean is using #0 for the starting point.

 

Not sure what you mean by using "#0" as a starting point...??

I just did a 94 F2 yesterday and you use the same reference carb (#2) and the vacuum ports you hook up to are in the intake manifold instead of on top of the carbs.
You also have to remove the airbox on the F2 to get to the carbs.

All syncs are similar, but there are just slight differences depending on how the bike is set up.
A manual should help.
