Default HID Wiring (Headlight on ONLY when engine is running)

I haven't actually done this yet. It's just an idea that I plan to execute on my F4i when my projectors arrive next week. If anyone out there knows anything about electronics please don't hesitate to leave feedback. Thanks.
By the way, "IGN (+)" is power supplied only when the key is in the "ON" position.

Do not do this. It will blow out your oil pressure switch.

Kinda figured it might cause the normal LED earlier in the same line has operating voltage of 1,2-2V, and right now you`re feeding 12v into the switch. Besides, it doesn`t make much sense that the relay trigger current comes from the same source as the current to be gatewayed, pretty much kills the idea of the whole relay. You`d need to find an ignition signal wire that only has current when the engine is running and drive the HID relay by that (given that it has enough amps to do so) removing anything gauge-related (left from the useless relay) from the schematic.

Just noticed this now. I wired something similar to my F1 last year and it worked great. It won't blow you oil pressure switch... Post #7 has my diagram

I just wired in a euro spec headlight switch (left bar pod). It has an "off" position.

Yeah. This is going to sound crazy, but it turns out the F1 and the F4i are not the same motorcycle, and, therefore, do not have the same electrical system. The F1 uses an incandescent oil pressure indicator light (12v). The F4i uses an LED (220mV). This wiring scheme WILL, without a shadow of a doubt, blow out the oil pressure switch; and that's based on first-hand experience.

This may sound crazy but why not wire in a simple toggle switch?
Would give you exactly what you want at the flip of a switch......

Go figure, didn't really think about the lower bias associated with the led. Anyways, why not just get a euro spec switchgear, as they have a light off option. Or, is the license plate light or some non-critical switched circuit powered by incandescent light?
