Yer ..was a nice vid when he made it ... but remember folks ...even a short ride with no jacket or helmet can be detrimental to your health ... !!

I lube every 500km or so but I have never cleaned my chain like that.....how often is it recommended/ necessary?

Really depends on the conditions it is used in and the type of lube used ...
If you are in a dusty area and the lube you use tends to attract the chit from around it ....then maybe every 6 mths is a good idea...

but if you only ride on good roads with little dust around , prolly once a year is plenty... but as I said it is a case of what lube you use and where you use your bike usually ...

Just take a close look at your chain every now and then and if you can see a visible build up of chit on the outside of it ...then hey , if you are inclined , clean it

Decent Vid.............makes the point, personally lube once a week = 350/400 miles
clean and adjust once a month or when I get bored and it's raining

Don't you think a tooth brush may be a bit harsh on the o-rings? I use a soft paintbrush.

nice video. well i just did mine but saw this video after the fact. just sprayed lube on. chain was not heated or cleaned prior. lol oh well i'll do it next week and borrow my friends stand.
