96 cbr600f3 cam/timing chain help

I'm rebuilding my bike and im having difficulty intalling the cam/timing chain. i have it over the cam shafts and the engine is together but im having difficulty putting it over the crank shaft. the job was initially to replace a blown piston and this is all that is keeping me from driving the bike. any help? the manual i have isnt helping at all, in regards to the cam/timing chain

set cyl 1 to top center with chain on crank run it up to the exaust side cam and make tite to the ex dot parrrallel to the top of the head then across to the intake cam and the dot to the head---make sure the tensioner is out or lose if a manual one...then tighten chain and turn over motor by hand to confirm alignment---done this 20 times over racing carreer--easy if you take yor time
