$5 safety mod that looks good

I love the red/black color scheme of my bike but didnt think it had enought white highlight to make it really stand out. Plus, seeing as how it's already hard enough to see bikes at night i wanted to make my bike noticeable. I have seen a few bikes that had a white outline around the Honda wings n wanted some of my own. So...while at Wal-Mart i was browsing through the automotive area for pin-stripe but thought about using reflective tape instead. I found a white role that was 1.5" wide n 30" long n decided to use that as my highlight. I bought two roles cuz i wasn't sure on how much i would need. I already had a hobby knife at home so i didn't need to purchase one of those. So if u don't have one, or a box cutter blade i highly suggest u get one. The tape was less than $3 each n i don't know how much a blade would be so that's y i said it'd be bout $5, since it only took me one role to get the job done. I ended up cutting the tape into four sections lenghtwise. Anyways, here's a picture, i'll include night shots when the sun goes down:

I did the same thing with black reflective tape and the F's on my bike. It ended up looking like crap in the day, as the tape was WAY more glossy than the bike wax. The F's looked cheap, so I took it off.
Yours looks really professional. How's the gloss? |
The tape isn't too glossy looking to me. It kind of just looks like silver tape. I can try to take more pics. I also added one more pic, at night-time. U can also see the piece of tape i added on the tail just so that can be seen too.

Pretty cool! Never thought about doing that.. Looks like i'll be doing that to mine also!:D Thanks for a great idea!

brilliant!
|
hmmm like it might be doing that

That looks good. Looks like it came from the factory like that.

Put some on the tailpiece so you can be seen from behind, and a small stripe around the back of your helmet or a triangle will stand out nicely and look good
Nice job ! |
That looks much better than I would have expected...
Nice work, snake! |
You can actually get overlays made out of reflective vinyl for your entire graphics. There was a whole bunch of Graffiti guys who got them done on 600rr.net. that turned out well though.
