Angry You know what's cool (tires)? :(

what's cool is buying new pirelli's 3 weeks ago and coming out from lunch to see a big screw in my flat rear tire. Of course the one time I didn't have slime, when it was raining, and I was far away from work and home... So i went to the gas station and plugged the tire. I really can't afford to buy a new tire (not don't want to, can't) so does anyone have any opinions on how to make sure the plug won't fall out ? If I put slime in it as well will that prevent leakage ? Bad idea ? Screws suck.

Take the tire off and use a combo plug/patch. Slime is a horrible idea unless its a dirtbike. Don't feel too bad, I got a screw in a rear tire about half way threw its life. Got a new one put on, rode to work the next day [23miles] and had another screw in the rear tire.

Yup definitely don't rely on a plug. Get the tire repaired properly with a patch from the inside.

A tire shop may patch it for you if you bring them the tire dismounted from the rim. They may not want to mess with the mounting of the tire. A motorcycle shop (like mission motorsports) will most likely be pricey, if they will even do it at all.

If you need help dismounting the tire from the rim, let me know. I can help you with that.
You could even buy a patch kit and do it yourself.

^ This. Plug + Patch will work fine.

We've had threads on this b/f. I posted pics of my rear 2CT that I had to plug & patch in the first 100 mi...got over 8k on that tire - including track days.

As long as the hole isn't massive, and the repair is done properly, the tire will be fine.

I know this sounds dumb, but when ever anything happens, that prevent you (me) from riding immediately...kind of delay the timing a bit. Think positive, it's like it's meant to happen so you can avoid something more terrible incident on the road.

Like what members say...you'll be fine with Plug + Patch .

Thanks for all the responses guys ! I always love the feedback I get on here ! And demon I didn't know you lived around here ! That's awesome. We've got to do something sometime. And yeah I saw your posts gotcbr thanks ! I just wanted to see if a combo of the slime/plug would be any good, didn't think it would be but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. Since my last post I have found a place that'll do the repair but It is like you said and I'll have to dismount the tire before hand. Thanks again everyone ! :]

and estate - I don't think that's dumb. I must say i concur as I feel like most things do happen for a reason. The only reason I noticed my flat was because I stopped to eat, though normally I don't and when I came out it was deflated. Otherwise I would've ridden 15 - 20 more miles on it before I stopped and something probably would've happened in that distance.

Yup, I'm close to you. Right here in Aliso. Get the wheel off and bring it over. I'll get the tire off the rim for you. Who said they will fix it?

For sure let's do something...
