Woke up to a nail in my rear tire

Brand new Battleaxe too lol, at work on phone so dont think i can post pictures yet. Its a giant staple looking one, shallow in the surface of the tire but im assuming pulling it out is no bueno. Rode the mile and half to work and the rear is still as firm as it has always been. So hopefully i can patch or something of that sort?

Start pulling it out slowly and listen for air as it comes out. If you hear air, push it back in. You may get lucky....

Spray some soapy water on it. As you pull it out, if it bubbles, leave it in.

Lol thanks, one can hope... if i do end up hearing air, should i start looking for a new tire?

If the puncture is in the main tread, it can most likely be patched/plugged.

It is near middle of tire, literally right next to a tread(think that is right word, the strips of tire taken out) and looks to go no deeper than 1/4 of an inch, if that

If the tyre is new it'll be nice thick rubber, so you may be lucky if it's only a staple :)

Oh, and I'd get it repaired.

Thats what im hoping for :p its riding the surface of the rubber, can look and feel the indents of the bottom of giant evil staple thing, so im assuming its not deep...but you know what they say about assuming. Whoever they are

Personally, I'd remove that staple as soon as possible to prevent further damage.

Just went outside and pulled it out as gingerly as you can pull something out of thick rubber. Bastard broke in half as i was pulling but no leakage as of now, saw no bubbles and heard/felt nothing. The treads go deeper than the pucture
