wind screen screws loose/not grabbing
my wind screen not attached very well, the screws that hold it dont seem to have any real way of holding the wind screen, they are just little black plastic gromet things with an allen key on the top side of the fairing but nothing on the bottom, so my windscreen just keeps sliding off of them and hangs there (its still attached to the front so its not going any where, but it is realy anoying to look at going down the road)
are the gromets supposed to expand when you tighten them or am i missing a peice? my friends R6 has a completly different set up with a simple nut and bolt with washers holding the windscreen, i was thinking of just takeing a trip to the hard ware store and doing that.

RE: wind screen screws loose/not grabbing
Not sure how yours is set up, but if its like mine, 98 CBR600, wot happens is that the screw insert, which is a soft metal tube with an expanding flange, which are designed to grip the sides of the hole in the ABS (fairing).
Wot happens is, when you tighten the bolt (or screw) it can cause the flange to either score the ABS making the hole bigger or break off, one of the metal tangs, either way, the results the same in that when you try to tighten the screw, the flange just rotates with it. Try and carefully remove the flange body to see wots happened. With a bit of luck, if its only a metal tang thats broken, you can replace it. If not, then a dab of resin will be required to secure the new one in place. Just be aware not to overtighten them as the ABS is pretty soft to begin with.
