Default why no fuel pump F2?

Dose anyone know why the F2 (91-94) has no fuel pump and the other years before and after use one? would it be an upgrade to add? Is the carb set different?

there is no need for a fuel pump on a f2 since the tank is mounted above the carbs. gravity will do the work.

I recognize that gravity works but, is the fuel pump a possible performance upgrade? The F1 or Hurricane and the F3 and F4 use the pump.....so what makes the F2 different? Same tank location....? same rack of carbs.....

There wouldnt be a performance upgrade. It only puts gas into the carbs, it has effect on performance of the engine. Unless your bike is starving for gas,(and you would know it as it would be breaking up and falling on its face), then there is no need to put one on.

If you have heavily modded the engine and you require more fuel than your getting, it may help. But a stock bike, even with a slip on and jet kit should be fine without a pump. gas will run out of the tank faster than the engine can use it.

no, infact some people who race the f3 take the fuel pump off, just another thing to break really.

I was given a F2 bike for parts and ended up building it back to a rider. While checking the condition of the motor a pump was added from a 600F. The motor seamed to like the pump. One of my friends said no reason for pump microfiche at BikeBandit.com confirmed this. Although I have not really ridding the bike for any amount of time to date, I tend to feel that it ran better with pump.

Just another thing that can break. Be happy not needing it.

If Honda designed the machine to provide PLENTY OF POWER without a fuel pump, WHY would anyone add a fuel pump???
