Hi everyone,

I am new to the forum and super bikes, I bought a accident damaged 09 cbr600rr from my a friend who passed, basically needs a full front end and header pipes.

I was told that the bike was turning over and starting but now all that happens is a little red light flashes on the clocks.

The fuel pump doesn't prime and the instruments don't turn on, except for that red light flashing.

I really want to get the bike started so at least I have peace of mind about the motor.

Your help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like there is a security feature on your ignition system. Is this a non-US bike?

 

 

 

 

You will need to check with your local dealer. We don't have HISS here, so I have no Idea.

 

Chinese eBay sellers have just the antenna assy. for about $15 US. Seems I read a while back that Honda wanted around $45 US for one.

So it's not the end of the world here.

 

 

$1700? And people wonder why bike dealers have a bad rep.

Edit: If that was $1700 Rand (about $140 US dollars), then that's fairly reasonable.
