Wheel bearings
 
Anyone know HOW to get the front wheel bearing out on a CBR600FM ???

mines failed its MOT and I cant get the bearing out, any advice would be helpful before I go nuts wiv a BIG hammer :icon_razz::icon_razz:

If they are being stubborn, you may have to heat the outter rim with a heat gun so it expands and allows the bearing to slide out easier. Other than that, just tapping them out should be all that is needed. And remember to tap oneside, then the opposite. You basically want to tap on 4 spots, all at opposite ends from eachother... this way, the bearing comes out evenly. You don't want to force the bearing out at an angle.. it will ruin your rim.

Also, for putting them back in. Put your bearings in the freezer for a few hours, then heat up your rim. when you put the bearings in, they should just require only a very little amount of tapping. Be quick though. the bearings will soak up the heat rather quickly and become hard to put it.
