What are your tires?

I am long overdue for a new set, and will be buying some come spring. I do purely street riding and no twisties (none around me). I was thinking of going with the Pirelli Diablo Rosso Street tires.

What does everyone here prefer on their bikes (For street riding)?

pirelli corsa, pilot powers, and shinko ravens. i like them all. the raven is good for the price. i think i like the powers the best tho.

I have Pilot Power 2ct but thats because i ride pretty agressivley sometimes. For more straight line riding i would go pilot powers. Youll get a longer tread life and wont sacrifice traction.

Michelin Road 2's would be a good choice for your type of riding.

Pilot Road 2 on my beast. I love 'em.

Pilot roads sound decent, how are they under aggressive driving? still stick fine?

backyardmechanic 02-06-2011 12:26 AM

michilin 2ct's are the best all around impo:icon_shrug: they last alot longer than my pirellis did and they seem to stick more in corners

A lot of people recommend pilot road 2s for the life expectancy, I read online they are sport touring tires? How does this effect their grip and performance under aggressive driving?

How aggressive do you ride? Do NOT hesitate to buy cheaper tires, or sport touring tires if you aren't flying through twisties and pushing your limits. Especially on a 600cc bike, those normally do not have the torque to do much rear wheel slipping. Pirelli Diablo is still one of the cheapest set of tires out there, and for the price they have amazing grip and good life.
