CBR600R F3 EFI Conversion
Hey little differnt here not a bike but I have a Buggy that has a CBR600R F3 I'm putting into it, anyways I got the engine from crashed bike nothing wrong with it other then Cylinder 1 needs to be Re Shimmed "valve adjustment" all others are still in spec. I'm not gonna worry bout that till the Buggy is completed and painted.
So the question is I just recently bought a complete throttle body with air box from a 2005 CBR600R and I am going to convert my F3 engine to EFI yes I also have the wire harness and ECU to the 2005 CBR600RR (Real quick too I know you're gonna ask why not just run carbs well reason is because I got a damn good deal on the Wire harness and air box/Throttle bodys and injectors everything all together" so back to it, where my question falls... In order to get the Injectors and spark plugs to fire at the correct time can I just use a newer CBR Reluctor from an F4i Street bike to get the correct timing for the Injectors because I noticed the 1998 style Reluctor for the Pick Up Coil has 9 Teeth on it. I would think it only needs 4 of them? 1 Reluctor tooth per TDC.....
Also Does this engine for 2 Spark Plugs at once? Like what I mean is one plug firing on TDC and the other one firing on the Exhaust stroke "Waste Spark" or does the ECU control it to fire 1 plug every TDC. I'm having a hard time understanding why the Reluctor has 9 Teeth.
Thanks guys!
