How do you know when your engine is warm and ready to ride?

Default RE: warm engine???

Good question!!!!!!!! I'm against running around w' the choke on... so I ride off after about a min., when I can feel heat in the radiator, w/ my bare hand. then choke off, after I pull away. I DON'T wick it above acouple of thou, before I see the temp gauge move'n and up to the first mark. I don't ride hiway till it's stabilized. It takes that long for your tires to heat up enough, to not "catch you out" anyway. watch people start posting about going down from cold tires, as the weather changes. I ride off what some would say is early... but I feel the extra cyl wash from exstended choke on, is a consideration.
Clean and free, Ripp'n

I guess nobody else got that one.

I prefer to wait until 130F then click 1st gear. Low RPMs up to 160F. Then I ease on the power and soon she's up to 178F. At 180+, I let 'er have it.

What do you mean by "feel the engine oil" being warm?
