Default Turn signal indicators always on

Just bought an '01 929RR and it has aftermarket signals installed. Signals work fine, but those indicator lights are annoying. I've heard of either wires being crossed or a possible hot wire being attached. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

They were wired like that in order to gain visibility at night I'm sure. Its not a bad idea to leave them like that.

Thanks for the info. After taking a look at all the wiring and getting the volt meter out, everything seems to be in working order with the wires, so I guess that's the way it'll be.

Your title says that the turn signal indicators are always on. In your post you say the signals work fine - which is it?

Are you referring to the running lights always being on? They're supposed to be that way.

Not the lights themselves. The lights work properly. The actual indicators, both left and right are what continue to stay on.

When he says
indicator lights
maybe he is refering to the lights on the instrument cluster. Maybe the wrong bulbs in the turn signals? You say that it's aftermarket is it a blub or led?
Pictures...

Adidas, that's what I am referring to. They are bulbs. I will post pics in a few.

If the dash indicator lights are always on, the PO wired up the aftermarket signals wrong... They probably tied both power wires together. Either disconnect the running light wires from them or do the 3-2 wire deal...

Turbulenz, both of the power wires were put together. I took out the power wire for the running lights and indicators are now off. Turn signals work like they should. Thanks for the help!

Good call Turbulenz! Short, sweet, to the point. Nice...
