Default Tool Kit

I just bought a 2006 600RR and I am loving it. My only question is...should there be a tool kit behind the fairing on the right side?? The manual says their should be, and the compartment is there, but no tools in it. I asked my dealer and they said Honda stopped putting tool kits on the bikes. That sounds like B.S. to me but I wanted to do some more research on it before I call their bluff. I would think a tool kit would come standard and would be a HUGE help on the side of the road if ever needed. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!!

If it says it in the manual then you should have one. Talk to the dealer, and point it out in your manual. MAKE them give you one!

We had another member that bought a 06 600RR and had the same story. He complained enough and they gave him one. There are a few tools in there that are nice to have, like the ones used to adjust your suspension. I'd call Honda and ask them.

Let me look into that.

Damn time zones... the office is on CA and is closed. The site has (310) 532-9811 as customer service, but it leads to a recording. They now have a toll free number, 1-866-784-1870. I'll try and remember to call later and ask... but I may forget.

If the manual says you should have a tool kit then you should have a tool kit. There is no excuse for it not to be there. Look in your manual and find the number to call Honda direct. My 06 1000RR came with a tool kit which consisted of an Allen wrench, a Phillips screw driver and the goofy wire loop thing to lock my helmet to the bike. My manual said that if I want a more comprehensive tool kit I should contact my dealer.

Bad news......

The tool kit is no longer included (2006). I just called Honda and talked to James, my friendly customer service rep. The tool kit was removed because from past surveys... buyers claimed they never used the supplied tool kit and Honda no longer includes it so it saves you money.

Damn that sux.... I know I have plenty of tools and can put together a small kit no problem, but was hoping to get a freebie from Honda. Anyway, thank you for finding that information for me. It is greatly appreciated.
