Well, my buddy put that 190/50ZR17 on my bike and I don't notice too much of a difference. So far so good. The major concern was clearance to the swing arm, from the sidewall to the side of the swing arm, but it cleared.

Put about 40-50 miles on it last night after the change, and she felt OK. Got up to highway speeds, and nothing out of the ordinary. He said he doesn't need it, it won't fit his bike, so I can run it until I need a new one. Don't have to worry about getting a new right away.

Only thing I did notice, was that in some of the tighter S-turns of the back roads I was in, it wanted to lean easier, I guess, more flickable. Not sure if that is because, I no longer have to fight the flat spot to lean in or just due to the different profile of the tire.

More than likely due to the tire not having as large of a flat spot. Just wait until you put on brand new tires. You'll feel like you can't keep your bike from falling over. Good deal that you are riding though. Its always good to have friends like that.
