Default stickers instead of decals

I ordered some decals a year or so ago but never got to putting them on until now because i am just about to finish painting the bike. So i thought they were decals but it turns out they are stickers (kind of relieving because they can just slap on and then i can peel a large face off rather than using an exacto knife). I used one of the ones i didn't want to use on my bike on the back of my laptop and it seems to stick pretty well.

They are 3M brand and I am wondering how you guys think they will hold up. And do you think that I should put them on before I clear coat to prevent them from getting scratched?

Or are decals really sticky on the back to the point where you could confuse it for a sticker?

i guess they could hold up for a while..but arent stickers mostly paper? i can see if they get wet many times over, just falling apart. and possibly fading out really bad.

hey will, your definitely right stickers are made of paper and decals are vinyl. The ones that I have are pretty much the same thing that you see in the YouTube video. I have never worked with decals before so I dint expect them to be so sticky. From what I read you have to spray a watery solution to get it to adhere so I was thinking it would be more like the sticky pad on envelope flaps. Apparently you can apply decals wet or dry!
