stator replacement
I know this is a repost but I'm hoping more people will see it here. I have an 01 929rr (hence the name). and here's my story: my stator went out and I'm in the process of replacing it with a new one. I have the old one out of the case and I can't find where the plug runs too exactly. I followed it as far as I could and it looks like it's up like right under where my seat and gas tank meet. I took my seat off and still couldn't get to it. has anyone done this? or know exactly where it's at and an easy way to get to it? please help I really wanna ride!!

RE: stator replacement
you will find a white plug when you take the gas tank and ECM cover off. find that and you are in there like swim wear.

RE: stator replacement
ok that's what I thought. so I DO have to take the tank off? do I have to drain it or will it not drain since it's got he fp in there?

RE: stator replacement
no you shouldn't have to drain the fuel. but remember that the lines are pressurized. release the pressure at the banjo bolt on the fuel pump. yes you will get some fuel but not much.

RE: stator replacement
I ended up getting to the plug without taking the tank off. thanks for the info on the tank removal though, I'm sure it will come in handy in the future
