Default stator or rectifier?

I'll get straight to it. 93 F2. Just put a new battery fully charged in 2 weeks ago. Now the battery is getting drained and pretty much sucks. I had a fried wire in going into the regulator/rectifier and fixed that. I can still charge the battery to full and start up the bike but it gets drained out over a week or so of riding. 11.8 volts from battery not running, 12.8 running. getting 6volts from rectifier/regulator while running. Haven't had a chance to test out the stator. Anyone have a clue what this could be? i have nothing extra running on my bike. LED's are on a switch and are off 95% of the time anyways. I don't want to get a new stator when its the rectifier or vice vesa.

theres a charging system flow chart floating around here from the other cbr forum....let me see if i can dig it up....it will tell you what to replace..worked for me great. most likely it is the regulator, dont know why but those like to blow..i got a new one and she charges like a champ!

anyways let me see if i can dig it up.

Thanks. I'll get on that this weekend and hopefully fix it. I know how to use a multi-meter. You put the red end on the battery and connect the black end on your nose. just kidding. Thanks again, hopefully it all works out.

I would say its most likely the R/R. I had the exact same symptoms as you, i bought a GSXR one from amazon for about 30 bucks, wired it up, and the problems went away.

BTW, if you are on the stock R/R, you should replace it anyway, its a known problem, expecially on the older bikes.

is a GSXR one better to use than a OEM or aftermarket?

well, the gsxr has the exact same wiring, and its 3 times the size, so the heat disipation is much better
