spark plugs

would you guys rather have iridium plugs or change out multi-ground copper plugs more frequently??...i know that Honda calls for iridium plugs...but new plugs are always better than old plugs...the copper are alot cheaper too and conduct electricty better

RE: spark plugs

i just changed the plugs in my bike yesterday, and there wer old copper plugs in it, and they turned black, im pretty sure it was b/c they couldnt conduct electricity as well as the new ones i put in which are the new iridium2x's by NGK. i popped those bad boys in and for the first time in a long time my bike fired right up the first time i pressed the button....i am very pleased with the new iridium 2x plugs and i highly recommend them.

+ i only paid 30 bucks from summit racing

Another problem solved by using the recommended part.

I know that many here have used copper, but keep in mind that you WILL be changing them more frequently. If you're a constant tinkerer, go for the copper. If you'd rather do it once a year or two, iridium.

That must be store specific because I can't find NGK iridiums for my bike at Advance, AutoZone, or NAPA here.

RE: spark plugs

OE on my bike is not Iridium, but I put some in there when I bought the bike. The advantage is not that they work better, but that they last longer. In fact, if the carbs aren't screwed up, I will probably never have to change the plugs again. (and if I do, it will probably be at least several years)

BTW, Advance Auto sells the CR9EHIX (I think that's the number) Iridium plugs for less than $7 each. -For the older CBR600s
