Default slip-on tech

Ok, about to order a slip-on for an 06 1000rr. Is it a requirement to re-map, program or anything like that or simply install and go, will it mess with anything, causing me to have to re-tune, or is that just something people do to get more power and do it all in one shot? I hear allot about power commanders and retuning and stuff like that. I haven't a clue, all I want is a nice sounding exhaust, I'm happy with the power I'm getting. Any advice? Thanks all!

for a slip-on it's not "required" to remap however some will recommend it. i know a lot of people who have a slip-on and that's it (including myself) and our bikes are running fine. if you want the MOST out of the aftermarket pipe then add the PC but like you said you just want the sound... so just install the pipe and you're good to go

sure,
slip ons dont require remapping. you may notice a little black discoloration on the tip of the pipe if it causes the bike to run a little rich but other than that you are good. granted dont expect a huge performance gain unless you remap it.

you can always decided to go with a PC3 down the road.
