Default Slight vibration/knock

I just bought a 92 F2 and started riding it today. I noticed that there is a slight vibration that you can feel in the entire bike when I am in neutral with the clutch out. If I pull in the clutch the vibration goes away. You can also feel it when in gear and going down the road, if I pull in the clutch it goes away. Any ideas what it could be?

have you checked the clutch plates? they might be bad or its could be a bolt is loose somewhere..... not actually riding the bike doesnt help me to diagnose hahahaha

Would a bad clutch cause the problem when its in neutral? I'm sure it has to be something transmission related, just not sure what it is yet? I'm hoping it's something I can fix myself without taking it to a stealership.

Is the "slight vibration" the only problem you have?

Yeah thats the only problem. It does seem to be a little more noticeable once the bike is warmed up. Should I stop ridding it until I figure out whats wrong?

if you have another mode of transportation i would say let e bike sit until you can either take the time to look at it or let a tech look at it just to be on the safe side... no sense in messin it up even worse... and even if it is something simple atleast you were safe rather than sorry......

Yeah I have other ways of getting around. I just would much rather be riding the bike. So if I rip it all apart what should I be looking for?

I have the same vibration in my 92F2. It's more like a feeling that gears are meshing than it is a vibration. I don't notice it at all in any gear other than neutral though. I'm not worried about it as I figure after 15 years and 28k miles there is bound to be something not right. (for all I know that is how they all are)

It's normal...My F2 does the same thing in neutral...It's the rotational gear mass(tranny) spinning...You can't feel it when you're in gear(1st,2nd,3rd,etc) because now the gears are in mesh and you are moving...
Not to worry... NOW GO RIDE!

Well my problem is slightly different because I can feel it while the bike is in gear also.
