Slider ?

I dropped the bike and the sliders wore down a little. Can the black part be replaced or do I need a whole new installation and new set of sliders?

I am pretty sure it depends on what sliders you have; I have vortex and you can simply replace the pucks, I do not there are a lot of them out there that you have to replace the whole thing

Not to be a smart a$$, but if you are new to riding, you might want to hold off on running out and purchasing a new set to replace or hide the scratches on a puck. Invariably you will have somehing that will happen (Murphey's Law???) and bang another "scratch".

Not to be dick or nothing but isnt that the whole point of the sliders, to show that you give her hell. If their wore down alot (that they will screw up your fairings in a fall) i would see replacing them, but if not show that you got some balls and still rode away with a thrashing. http://img485.imageshack.us/img485/3...quirrel2ra.jpg

It would stand to reason that if someone has been "wearing" down the pucks alot there would be alot more to replace then the sliders. I can think of numerous bike parts that would become "scratched" more like torn up from "wearing" down sliders. Sliders are not some routine item you replace when they go bad or become worn. Something has happened. I was just suggesting that if you really just have some high speed "garage" drop, you might not need to go out and replace them. No hate intended, sorry if anyone was offended.

RE: Slider ?

Someone cut me off while wheelieing and I dropped the bike and it flipped a couple of times, the sliders saved all my chrome except my brake lever and left foot peg, I totalled my upper and rear fairing, and the gas tank had some rash. I was able to get the fairing scratched buffed, repainted, and the rear seat cowl took some damage, but my auto body shop works wonders and was bale to bring that and teh gas tank cover back. but both side sliders were worn down pretty bad. And, I'm new to computers not to bikes, I'm just not a bit mechanically inclined.

Depends on the sliders....why are you being a wheelie king? Bad news! If your going to be stunting, then leave them, unless they were really worn down where they wouldn't protect your bike.
