Default Reverse Rotating Rotors...

Anyone ever read about these? They sound pretty awesome, ingenious idea.

BB!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks for the post, very interesting. I love this kind of stuff, makes me think... Ouch, i hurt myself !!!!!!!!!
He's on crack!!!!!!!!!!
boy, i hope , I dont go the way of the guy who said" disk brakes, will never be of any use, on a motorcycle"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok first, several times faster, in revearse???!!!!! how will the caliper input on the tubes react. remember the 70's, road racers had to determan these inputs, as it changes steering, braking, (remember anti dive?)ect.
Then a rotor going faster... 2+ times!!!!!!!!, is this the needed instant heat build up, for the space tech rotor materials???
Then, are we look'n for "dot 411" bake fluid???!!!!!!! are caliper seals, master cyls, compatibley resistant to temp exstreeeeeems!!!!!!!!! How about hub bearing temps, from heat proximity,tranfer... and "drive temps".
If the tire is going 180, how fast is that simple trany stuff, at 2.5X going, a million ??!!!!!!!!!!! and mass + inertia, two constants of physics.
Will this revive the ill fated attempts, at water cooling of brake components, in the late 50's ?????
does it take much more HP, when it all becomes "1pc." !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm all for inovation... it's amazing, the boys at red, don't own this one already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
clean and free, only smoke'n harleys !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ripp'n

well if this works out then there isnt going to be a need for steering dampners anymore

I would imagine that head shake on hard acceleration would be worse. The concept does sound interesting -- I know personally that at 200+ mph it's very difficult to steer. Hmmmm, "very" isn't even close -- nearly impossible is more like it.

so with this new set up...trying to lean at 200mph and steer will be like 170 on a regular bike eh? or something like that...whatever...i'm going back to work.

I guess that depends on how much the counter rotation negates the gyroscopic effect of the wheel. I've never experimented with reverse rotating stuff so I have no clue whether it really negates any force.

My problems with this idea are:

1) now you're braking through planetary gears in the center of the hub. if they break -- you're screwed.
2) unsprung weight is increased and their's not much you can do about it. the wheel hub and spokes must be fairly substantial because all the braking force remains central to the wheel.
3) if you come up with the perfect balance (assuming the counter rotation does negate gyroscopic effect) then such quick steering could really mess you up at higher speeds. I mean if turn in at 145mph is as easy as 40mph you could easily out maneuver your grip.

Just my thoughts --
