Rescuing a 929 help required...
Hi all, lucky (so I thought) to have rescued a CBR929rr from rot and ruin, it now resides in the warmth of my garage, a 2000 model. Lots of fixes required too many to list, but immediate issue...
I have replaced the battery cables since they had been cut, plus link leads. Key does not turn in ignition, however dash lights up if r/w lead to fuel cut off relay is fiddled with. Starter relay works when powered separately and engine turns.
apart from a match, where’s my next step
thanks

What are you trying to do? Get it started first?
You will need to get by the security system. USA bikes have a diode in the ignition switch that supplies 9v via the pink wire to the ecu. European models have HISS, which is a different animal entirely.

Demon
my understanding is that HISS will just stop ignition, it should allow key to turn in ignition
is this not the case
whilst powering the bike up remains an issue there are several red herrings
any advice appreciated
