replaced the clutch and now it runs funny

The clutch was slipping bad before, and now it's nice a tight, but the bike feels funny. First it feels like it lost some of the bottom end ( I expected it, cause I went from high stalled converter to a lock up one sort of in car terms), but there is a second problem, it happened couple of times. I downshifted to like 2nd at around 40mph and got on it and it felt like a hit a rev limiter so I shifted to the next gear and when I looked at the tach it was way bellow, sort of like it backfired in a previous gear at like 8k rpm or so. Oh well, on the plus side I got the front wheel off the ground for the first time, I revved it to 6k and dumped the clutch and the front wheel went up for 2 sec or so. I've never done this before and figured it'd be scary as ****, but it was just fine, I didn't get scared or excited, it was more like, man, I need to do it again:D

You soaked the clutch plates in oil for a day before you installed them, right?

I soaked them for around 20 min, when I started the bike it didn't make any noise and the clutch works great, but the bike hick ups at like 9k for some reason.
