Default Regulator/rectifyer temp

Hello every one. Need some advice.

A few weeks ago my regulator decided it had enough of life & cooked it's self, along with the plastic connections.
I replaced the R/R & connections with new, cleaned the eath connections checked all the other connections & replaced the Stator for good mesure because the wiring was geting hot at the Stator connection.

She is now running fine. No hot wires all Voltage/Ohm checks are good, but the R/R is as hot as a hot thing. Very hot to the touch.

Is this normal or have I missed something?
