so i live in maryland and it has rained for the past three days. my bike was sitting in the rain and was partially covered but the wind blew the cover off and i didnt know until i got back home with my new rear tire. well i didnt think anything of it and went to put the tire back on. well i started the bike up and it ran fine so i parked it. the next day (today) i go out to start the bike and no problems, but when i go to give it gas, it bogs down and dies and i see puffs of smoke like burning oil smoke coming out of my exhaust. well i start to freak out that my baby is hurt so i back down the hill and park it and let it sit. i tried to start it up ten minutes later, and the engine catches once but does not start and the starter just keeps whining a high pitch whine. i think there is water in the engine. Anybody got any ideas as to what else this might be???? any and all ideas are more than welcomed................

 

water could have blown into the ram air ducts and puddled up inside airbox or sumthin like that.. that would be my only guess.. just rip it all apart and go threw the process of elimantion! but then you come to..."then how does it still run when im riding in the rain?" did you do anything else to the bike? ANYTHING AT ALL? maybe there are some poeple that know more about the topic......

 

I leave the bike in the rain all the time and nothing ever goes wrong with it.
