Quick question about adjusting the shifter linkage
The bike is a cbr f3. My buddy rode it (he has an '06 r6), and mentioned that the shift throw is way too far. He said to adjust the lever to make the shifts shorter. I've messed with the linkage a few times, but not sure if I need to make it shorter or longer to make the shifts quicker. I personally don't have a problem with the long shift throw, but I would like to give a shorter throw a shot to see if i like it.
So do I lengthen or shorten the linkage? Thanks guys

Does your buddy really know what he's talking about? Shift throw is not adjustable. you can only adjust where the shift peddle is located. It will always shift at X travel unless you modify the pivots.
perhaps he's talking about the clutch engagement zone? that's adjustable...

Naw, he was definantly talking about the shift throw. The only time I adjusted the linkage was when I put a new rearset on, and dialed in the shifter to engage properly. I was unsure of the throw adjustment, so I figured I'd ask. I guess he's just not used to the beautifuly long F3 throw
well, the only other thing that you could do is replace the transmission parts so that there is less transmission lash. i know that's something that Honda tightened up on the 2007 RR from the 2006 RR, and people LOVE it.
Ha, I think I'll just buy a new bike before I swap out tranny parts.
Thanks for the help though, I'm going to have to tell my buddy that his muffler bearings are shot and he should replace them asap, he'll probably believe it.
