according to the manual...it's not necessary...but i did it anyway.

you should sync after changes like spark plugs and valve adjustement or check.

best tool is the morgan carbtune! do a search. i ordered it from overseas.

Tahoe...how do you like your Carbtune...? I've got a mercury stick and its time for new mercury...which I think I'll skip.

Motio pro has a new 4 columnbalancer with some new non-hazardous liquidfor about $95.

So, its either the Morgan, or the new Motion Pro. I LOVE the concept of the Morgan, and itssmall size.

As for the topic....the OEM's set the butterfly's to a 2cm Hg range...which is pretty crappy. If shop puts the gauge on there and sees less than a 2cm range, they won't even touch it. Doing it yourself with a good gauge, you can get to 1/2 cm easily. Every 10-12K with plug changes or valve adjustments is probably a good practice.

morgan carbtune is AWESOME...but seriously...100 bucks for something you use maybe 4-5 times for the lifetime of the bike?

so i say get crazy...sync as much as possible...LOL...they do get out of wacked rather easily.

stay with what you gots mang...the concept is all the same as long as the hoses don't leak. but if you have extra bling...then the carbtune is great stuff!

Well, getting new mercury isn't much of an option...its pretty much banned from the public to buy. The rest of it is 14 years old, though in good shape since I keep it inside and out of the sun....it paid for itself a long time ago as buddies would give me $10-15 to do their bikes....and I always have a bikes of my own coming and going...I never keep anything more than a few years.

oh dang...if buddies give you 10-15 to do carb sync then DEFINITELY get the carbtune!

or you can get a bunch of vacuum gauges and make it yourself! th concept is just too simple ya know?
the hardest part is probably making the dampeners...which isn't hard at all!
