Hi there,
I apologise I am new to this forum but I have spent all day in search for some information on the 1985 CBR400 and cannot find anything.
Finally google brought me to you guys.
Question is, I live in Queensland, Australia. We are required to ride only LAMs approved motorbikes
How they are assessed can be found here( I know its Tasmania but same laws in this case)
http://www.transport.tas.gov.au/__da...otorcycles.pdf
A list of current approved can be found here.
http://www.tmr.qld.gov.au/~/media/dd...ist_101026.pdf
The instructor can't see why my CBR400 wouldnt be approved if the CB400 is, along with the higher capacity engines like the 500's and 600's
What I am getting at is I need to find out what the Horsepower of these engines, tare weight and find out if its lower then 150kW/tonne
So far I have found off a dyno video someone said they got 54hp, which comes around 40.26kW which then comes assuming that tare weight is 271 as found on another site (which includes 80kg for rider and 10kg for fuel) comes 148.58kW/tonne which would just slip me threw to get the CBR400 approved.
I don't know if I have given much information as I only have a 11digit VIN and cannot find much more information. If its any help the VIN is NC171051173
Any help would be great. The previous owner sold to me promising that Learners can ride it. I got the rego and turned out we cant but it so close I can apply for it to be approved if my figures are correct, which I am hoping someone knows a little more about these machines
Thanks in advance!
