Alright guys, I am in some dire need of some help.

I recently came across a deal. A 1996 Honda CBR F3, for 200$. I knew it needed work. The guy told me it had ran 8 months ago. Now I'm not so sure.

The things it is in need of;

left front brake rotor, caliper, and front brake harness
fuel pump
Repaired fairings
front brake lever
air solenoid valve
choke nob

These are all the things I have come across and purchased.

My friend and I cleaned the carbs as soon as we could. Then we found that there was no fuel pump. There is spark; we checked both pairs. Compression test has not been done, we did the cheap version and one of us held our hand over the spark tube and felt it when we tried the starter.

So far, all we have gotten is a few pops, a flamethrower (when we used starter fluid), then the end of the exhaust having a flame (when we just tonight put the fuel pump on).

We aren't sure of what to do next. Tomorrow I'm going to go rent a compression tester from an auto parts store to test it for real.

Do you have any fuel in the bowls of the carbs? Many times when people clean the carbs, the tip them in all sorts of directions and end up making the floats stick. When this happens, they either stick closed or open, but in this case, I'd make sure they aren't stuck closed.

the other part, is are you sure you cleaned the carbs properly? such as cleaned out all of the ports and jets? You should have removed the main jet, the pilot jet, and the air metering tube.

I know this is off topic but obviously you are from alaska? I was born/raised in anchorage is why I ask.

When the carb was taken apart, we took apart everything that we could get to... without splitting the carbs into individual ones. We cleaned the jets, needle, and the bowl.

And no, I'm not from Alaska, just a nickname that stuck. haha

We're going to try checking the ignition timing and the compression today.....
